Developing A Good Fade Golf Shot

A good golf swing, for most people is developed through hours of golf instruction and practice. Many people never really do develop what they would describe as a good golf swing. The most common problem for the average golfer is overcoming their slice. For many beginning golfers it is a cause of great frustration and may cause them to quit the game of golf altogether. A golf ball slices when one of several golf swing problems cause excessive side spin on the ball causing the ball to curve to the right.

If you have a good golf swing that is consistent and repetitive then you might even want the develop the effects of a slice. A controlled slice is called a fade. The major difference between a slice and a fade is the amount of control. Why would you want to slice the ball? All golf courses have obstacles and dogleg fairways that have to be overcome by the golfer. Many golfers will play short or lay up to get around these course obstacles however many good golfers will choose to hit a fade or draw golf shot. A good fade shot is a good way to get around a right dogleg or an tree located in the right side of the fairway. Again a fade is a controlled right hand curving golf shot.

So how do you make a good fade shot? You begin by getting into your normal address position. Swing your club up to waist high follow through position so that your left arm is fully extended so that the club and your arm forms an L shape. That means the tip or toe of the club must point back to right. When you look down the club shaft you should note that your point of aim is 10 to 15 feet to the left of your target.

Now bring your swing all the way to the back swing position. Repeat this move several times to ingrain the feel of this swing. You will notice that the position of your follow through position will cause your to take a wide outside upswing plane. As you make your down swing your club face will remain open as your swing moves outside during your release. This will cause strong left to right spin and thus a fade shot. You will have to spend a good deal of time at the range to get a comfortable and confident with your fade shot. Remember to warm up your practice session using the fundamentals of a good golf swing. plan your practices sessions with distinct objectives. Keep a diary of each practice session to assure you develop a repeatable golf shot.

On the course you can use the mental check list of steps provided above to make sure that your swing plane is correct for the fade shot. Some golfers will also increase the amount of fade by further opening the club face. One additional tip is to make sure you maintain strong left hand grip to delay the release of your hands which will also open the club face at the point of impact. As you develop your skill and confidence at making a consistent fade shot your enjoyment of the game of golf will increase and your partners will marvel at your skill. Imagine the look on their faces as your ball fades around a center fairway tree to lie in the middle of the fairway on the other side. A good golf swing is a beautiful thing.

The spider-man franchise has spawned a multi billion dollar industry worldwide. From comic books, movies, television, toys, memorabilia, games and so forth. Personally, I have always had a fantastic time with anything and everything that is affiliated to spider-man.

That is because players will see spider-man becoming allies with his most malicious foes. Some of these adversaries entail green Goblin, Dr. Otto Octavius, Venom, and Sandman. There will also be a multiplayer component to the single player campaign. Gastric Bypass Surgery For Trimming Body Fat

Exercise and a healthy, nutritious diet should be on everyone's daily routine, which can serve as the first line of defense against several ailments. But many patients wake up to the perils of obesity fairly late when their excessive weight has led them to a series of complaints including diabetes and coronary disorders. They get easily dispirited, especially when faced with the rigors of the demanding exercise and diet regimens that won't give them the fast results they desire, and turn in for gastric bypass surgery.

But is gastric bypass surgery the magic bullet that can provide permanent freedom from the extra pounds?

The bypass surgery, or for that matter any bariatric surgery, is not a quick-fix. As the surgery carries its own risk, the surgery is not for all, but only for those morbidly obese persons whose BMI has crossed 40 and who cannot achieve significant weight through diet and exercise alone. It can be successful only for those who are disciplined and committed to the prescribed diet. People who suffer from depression, bipolar disease, or schizophrenia should consult and be under the care of a psychiatrist before gastric bypass, as weight loss can worsen these conditions.

How the gastric bypass surgery works is simple. The stomach is cut high up so that it is divided into two parts - a small upper part, a one 1 oz pouch, and a large lower part a 39 oz bypassed part. Three rows of staples secure the two pieces so that most of the time they don't leak. The pouch is then connected to the small intestines bypassing duodenum and part of the intestines (jejunum). The larger lower part of the stomach is just left lying idle. So you end up with a small stomach and a shorter intestines. This means that you will feel full more quickly and that you will absorb less of the food actually eaten (because of the shorter bowel). food flows directly into the middle section of your small intestine, limiting absorption of calories.

You can begin regular activity within 4 to 6 weeks after your gastric bypass. You should be pain-free after 10 days or so. Fatigue is common, and can last from 3 to 4 weeks after your gastric bypass. The surgery alters your digestive system to make it impossible for you to eat much food at one sitting without suffering unpleasant side effects such as 'dumping syndrome' or rapid gastric emptying, which occurs when the undigested contents of your stomach are "dumped" into your small intestine too rapidly. Common symptoms include abdominal cramps and nausea .This digestive side effect acts as a brake on calorie intake, and can lead to significant loss of weight within 2 years after surgery.

Almost every gastric bypass patient suffers hair loss and hair thinning during the first six months. Once your weight stabilizes and you consume more protein, the hair will grow back. Hair treatments and permanents should be avoided.

Gastric bypass is a success when half of extra weight is lost and the loss is persistent for up to five years. The risk of mortality with a gastric bypass is about 1 in 100. Though the surgery is generally safe, it can lead to serious and potentially fatal complications. In a gastric bypass, the stitches and staples that help to bypass lower part of the stomach and reconnect to the intestines have the potential to tear in the first few weeks after surgery. This can lead to peritonitis and acid leak and bleeding. Intestinal blockage, due to scar tissue or intestinal twisting, is a possibility. The pouch may get stretched, with the result appetite may return and result in some patients' regaining 10 to 30 pounds of lost weight.

Since the operation causes food to bypass areas of the small intestine that are responsible for absorbing protein, calcium, and certain vitamins, nutritional deficiencies may occur. In addition, less iron is absorbed because of the small size of the new stomach pouch. So you will need to take daily vitamin and mineral supplements everyday for the rest of your life, including a multivitamin, calcium, vitamin B12, and iron. You will also need to increase the proportion of protein in your diet, since you'll be eating less food overall. Blood tests must be performed every three months for the first year to check your nutritional status.

Revision surgery is required in about 10 to 20 percent of patients, usually to correct abdominal hernias or pouch stretching and narrowing. Though technically reversing the surgery is possible, it is advised only under exceptional circumstances. The complications of gastric bypass surgery must be carefully weighed in consultation with the doctors before making the decision to undergo surgery.

Once the decision has been made, simultaneously build up the determination to follow the doctor's recommendation regarding diet and exercise. Yes, you can shed the extra pounds. And the low self image.

10 Tips to De-stress, Part 1

Have you ever had times when everything feels like a drag and you hate to get up in the morning, get dressed, go to work, do whatever you have to, run your errands, take care of children, do housekeeping, and so on and so forth? It doesnt help if it is a lovely sunny day, you feel gray and cloudy. You feel so bad that you dont even want to feel better. You may also be so stressed you cant even think straight. Your mind spins; you are not in control.

Though this is a very common position to be in, turn it around you must. As you know, no one is all right, if you are not all right, so there is no time to lose. You are a lighthouse. You owe it to yourself and everyone you encounter today, to spread light. Turn it around. What you want to do is find ways to have fun doing what you must; everything, really. So here are some solutions for you:

1. You play games. You may think that games and fun are for children and you are way past that stage and it is really silly to be acting silly. Well, let me disagree. Once you get in the playing mode, there is no stop. Make up little things to begin with until you feel more comfortable stretching yourself. Start with walking. Even if you are not in the mood to take a walk, some walk you need to do: from your car to the store, from your office to you car, from your house to your mailbox, etc. take this opportunity to step on everything that makes a noise, or a click, or a splash. begin by stepping on dry leavesnow is the best time of the year for this. Then, if you are really walking for the pleasure of it, find a little stone and kick it so it is always ahead of you; you will have a goal to pursue as well as putting your mind into something a fun.

2. Listen to some calming music. This is especially good when you are stuck in traffic. It can be classical, if you like it, or any type of meditation music, you know, the ones which play some cymbals, water running, gongs, bells, birds singing, etc. You know what I mean. Just pay attention not to fall sleep, especially while driving.

3. Go for a walk, or run or exercise, or do Yoga and Tai-chi, or dance, or whatever is your favorite form of movement. It neednt be one whole hour. Twenty minutes is plenty to refresh your body and soul. Avoid pumping your adrenals before you go to bed, or you will not sleep when you need to.

4. light a candle and/or incense. Nothing needs to be elaborated, really, and you can do so while attending to other things as well, if you must. A candle is good for any occasion, from cooking to reading. You can also spend a minute staring at the flame. This is a great de-stressor. I always have one on while I am working at the computer. Of course, you need to pay attention that you will not burn down the house. Though lightning candles may seem more of a female kind of activity, men will profit greatly from it. Just give it a try.

5. take a minute every hour of the day to stop whatever you are doing, close your eyes, and take a deep breath. Though it is only a minute per hour, this is easier said than done, but make a point and stick to it. One minute may seem a lot especially when we are so hurried, but I promise you it is not. You can also take a good sip of water after your deep breath. This is especially good for those who arent too fond of drinking water or those who forget to do so.

So here you have it, at least the first part of my tips. The most important thing here is to remember to avoid excitement or any boost of adrenaline in whatever form, even if it is just a piece of chocolate or a nice cup of coffee. I know it sounds harsh, but you will notice the difference. Next time you feel stressed or burnt out or just plain blas, try any or all of these suggestions. You will feel much better within 20 minutes. Guaranteed.
